Não foi um jogo muito conseguido, sobretudo na primeira parte. Ainda assim, penso que a vitória acaba por ser justa - embora o empate fosse também aceitável pela boa répica dada pela Naval.

Razões da vitória:

- Houve um grande Eduardo que na primeira parte impediu que a Naval, em duas ocasiões (claras) passasse para a frente do marcador (mais uma grande-penalidade defendida!).

- Tivemos a sorte do jogo, sobretudo ao termos marcado logo no reinício, num lance anormal, mas onde a concentração e a combatividade (e o poder físico!) dos dois avançados ficaram bem vincados - com Orlando a incomodar e Renteria a fuzilar.

- Acreditamos até ao fim, mesmo após termos sofrido um golo consentido (culpas repartidas entre Eduardo e João Pereira) numa fase em que o jogo estava mais ou menos controlado e quando a equipa se econtrava já formatada sobretudo para segurar a vantagem.

- A qualdade individual fez a diferença na fase final do jogo: num primeiro lance, Renteria tem uma rotação brilhante sobre si próprio que o deixa cara-a-cara com Peiser - atirou à figura; no segundo lance, é Luís Aguiar que tem um gesto semelhante a passe (muito bom!) de Matheus, mas desta feita o lance sobra para João Pereira se redimir do erro na jogada do golo sofrido.

De todo o modo, tivemos algumas dificuldades em impor o nosso jogo a meio-campo. Não fomos muito eficazes no pressing (que habitualmente nos permite ganhar a bola em terrenos muito adiantados) e jogámos a um ritmo lento, sobretudo no primeiro tempo. Curiosamente, acabámos por sofrer o golo num momento em que controlávamos bem a partida. As substituições tiveram repercussõs positivas para a equipa: Matheus entrou bem, dando vivacidade ao flanco esquerdo (Alan tinha estado muito amorfo no outro flanco); Paulo César entrou também muito bem, com mobilidade, permitindo uma melhor ligação entre o meio-campo e o ataque, até aí dificultada pelo recuo forçado de Aguiar para terrenos mais próximos de Vandinho e pelo jogo pouco conseguido de Mossoró.

Fica do jogo uma vitória importantíssima. Estas vitórias "valem campeonatos". Só é "campeão" quem consegue vencer mesmo quando não joga ao seu melhor nível. Foi o que aconteceu.

De negativo, fica a lesão de Frechaut; não tão grave quanto se pensava mas susceptível de por em causa a sua presença no onze de Liège - o que cria um problema muito complicado para Jesus, porque a eliminatória, em minha opinião, ainda não está ganha e vai ser preciso saber sofrer na Bélgica, pelo menos durante os primeiros minutos de jogo. Alternativas? Stélvio é a mais imediata (já testada) ma não é muito agradável lançar um jovem às feras num jogo desta responsailidade, sobretudo numa posição que não é a sua. Outra alternativa, seria Evaldo entrando Edimar. Mas o problema seria idêntico: Edimar estrear-se-ia numa partida de grande responsabilidade, com a agravante de Jesus ser obrigado a mexer em duas posições (central e lateral-esquerdo) - para além de acabarmos com uma dupla de centrais de esquerdinos. O melhor mesmo seria que Frechaut estivesse a 100% na próxima quinta-feira...

Já em período de descontos teve uma oportunidade flagrante de golo, em que o avançado do Belenenses apareceu isolado em frente a Beto com todo o tempo para escolher o lado para onde atirar a bola e rematou ao lado. Tinha um companheiro mais à direita a quem podia ter passado. Enfim foi pena por que dava um certo gozo ver o Leixões perder.

Este fim de semana até nos correu bem , ganhamos , Nacional e Maritimo perdem e o Leixões empatou , nada mau !

Very poor first half by the team. Sa is becoming a fav f mine and was glad to see him start but must say both he and renteria saw very little service. Our delivery in the final 3rd was terrible but in the end we got 3 points thanks to a man of the match performance by joao perreira. Also braga are in need of another winger in the offseason as matheus is far from good form.

A great game was not to be expected! The players made a really intense game on wednesday and we could see that some of them were tired in this game!
Nevertheless the result was the most important and we got the 3 points... really really important points atending to the results of the direct rivals! And also next week they are playing between themselves!

I also find that we tend to struggle when we play sides who are defended minded. Normally when i side stacks the center of the parkwe have a very hard day at the office. Players like renteria, aguiar and alan are players who excel when they have space to move into and hence when we play better opposition who open the game up more we can really play some sexy football at times. I think we need to look at playing the ball wide and deliverying crosses into the box espically when sa is on the field.

Also the tactic to play the long ball over and over again was bad but we resorted to it because once again we showed we carn't play in crowded spaces. We need  to bring in someone who works will in tight spaces and is good at distrubuting balls into open space.

Thats how we lost to Leixões...they "parked the bus" in front of the goal and were so fortunate to win with a terrible autogoal! Thats the problem in portugal... teams don't attack... they are confortable just with a 0-0... only a few teams, and I'm glad that braga is one of them, play for a win! Not only the 3 top teams and Braga... also Guimarães I think, Nacional...

Your right but if you pay atention to Braga's style you'll notice that we don't use the long crosses to often... a mistake in my opinion but they normally try to go to the center!
The three goals agains Standard were not crosses! Against Sporting the same!...

Im talking more about when the bus is parked infront of our goal we should really try to play more wider to try and draw players away fro the center or to send crosses in.

Just an option i think we should try when a side is defending heavily.

I agree with you. In fact, that is one of the big failures of this team. If we where able to play with more speed throw the winds, we could have won some games outside of Axa stadium, on the first half of the championship. Specially because we have Matheus, who is a fast but not very technicist player, and Alan, that is capable of doing good crosses. And i also believe that our strikers are good headers. They just don't have many oportunities to demonstrate that.
